ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
In accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880, the Department of English Language Education within the Department of Foreign Language Education at the Faculty of Education, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, was established in 2011 and began its academic activities in the 2013–2014 academic year.
The Department of English Language Education admits students based on their foreign language exam scores and aims to train individuals who are well-equipped both personally and professionally, have a strong command of current theories, practices, perspectives, and techniques in the field, are capable of critical thinking, embrace contemporary educational principles, and are committed to continuous self-improvement in all aspects.
In this context, the Department of English Language Education aims to educate teachers who:

Embrace contemporary principles and are able to convey these principles to their students with a sense of responsibility,

Are knowledgeable about current educational theories and techniques and can apply them in the classroom,

Can keep up with technological advancements and effectively integrate them into their lessons.
Education and Instruction
Our English Language Education Program includes both theoretical and practical courses designed to develop core language skills such as English reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar, as well as pedagogical knowledge for future teachers.
Graduates of our program are qualified to work at all levels of formal education institutions—from preschool to higher education—and in all public and private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education.
